About the position

The Business Intelligence Analyst at Academy Bank will be a key member of the Data Governance and Strategy Team, responsible for designing, developing, and implementing reports and analytics solutions primarily using Power BI. This role involves collaborating with both business and technical teams to ensure that business needs are met and projects are well-documented throughout the analytics lifecycle. The analyst will leverage their technical skills in Python or R to explore innovative solutions that enhance decision-making and provide valuable insights to business unit leadership across the bank.

Responsibilities

• Develop Power BI dashboards for Business Unit Leaders that deliver timely and accurate data, performance indicators, and insights.
• Build relationships and collaborate with Business Unit Leaders and internal clients to understand, gather, clean, and transform relevant datasets required to meet reporting and analytical objectives.
• Effectively communicate and interact with business and technical personnel to solve complex data problems.
• Utilize Power BI, Python/R, and SQL to expand and optimize the Bank's portfolio of enterprise reporting and analytics.
• Research, present, and implement new data product features to improve the bank's capabilities and processes.
• Perform quantitative and qualitative ad-hoc analysis to support strategic initiatives, including analyzing trends and synthesizing multiple datasets to uncover valuable insights.
• Build and maintain clear and relevant data and reporting documentation as needed.
• Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating and communicating significant issues appropriately.
• Serve as a Power BI application subject matter expert and provide assistance, troubleshooting, and support for users across the enterprise.
• Ensure a safe work environment that promotes a positive bank image, including regular inspections and maintenance of premises.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Analytics, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• Minimum of 2+ years developing automated reports and dashboards in Power BI.
• Demonstrated skill with PowerBI (DAX/M), Python/R, and SQL to gather, transform and visualize data.
• Strong analytical and research skills.
• Skilled in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Commitment to accuracy and quality of work.
• Ability to prioritize and manage competing projects.

Nice-to-haves

• Working knowledge of BI/data warehouse tools and functionality.
• Experience with Power BI Paginated Reports.
• Basic skills with SQL, Python and/or R for gathering data and automating processes and analytics.
• Experience with the Snowflake platform.
