About the position

The Business Intelligence Analyst at Academy Bank will play a crucial role in the Data Governance and Strategy Team by leveraging business and technical knowledge to design, develop, and implement reports and analytics solutions primarily using Power BI. This position involves collaborating with business and technical teams to understand business strategies, gather information, and ensure that business needs are met throughout the analytics lifecycle. The analyst will also contribute to innovative solutions using Python or R to enhance decision-making processes, ultimately delivering valuable insights and analysis for business unit leadership across the bank.

Responsibilities

• Develop Power BI dashboards for Business Unit Leaders that deliver timely and accurate data, performance indicators, and insights.
• Build relationships and collaborate with Business Unit Leaders and internal clients to understand, gather, clean, and transform relevant datasets to meet reporting and analytical objectives.
• Effectively communicate and interact with business and technical personnel to solve complex data problems.
• Utilize Power BI, Python/R, and SQL to expand and optimize the Bank's portfolio of enterprise reporting and analytics.
• Perform quantitative and qualitative ad-hoc analysis to support strategic initiatives, including analyzing trends and synthesizing multiple datasets.
• Build and maintain clear and relevant data and reporting documentation as needed.
• Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating and communicating significant issues appropriately.
• Serve as a Power BI application subject matter expert and provide assistance, troubleshooting, and support for users across the enterprise.
• Ensure a safe work environment that promotes a positive bank image, including regular inspections and maintenance of premises.
• Communicate and instill corporate initiatives and vision, including the six Pillars of Success.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Analytics, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• Demonstrated skill with Power BI (DAX/M), Python/R, and SQL to gather, transform, and visualize data.
• Minimum of 2+ years developing automated reports and dashboards in Power BI.
• Strong analytical and research skills.
• Skilled in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Commitment to accuracy and quality of work.
• Able to prioritize and manage competing projects.

Nice-to-haves

• Working knowledge of BI/data warehouse tools and functionality.
• Experience with Power BI Paginated Reports.
• Passion for analysis and design; ability to synthesize datasets for data visualizations.
• Experience with the complete analytics implementation lifecycle.
• Basic skills with SQL, Python, and/or R for gathering data and automating processes.
• Experience with the Snowflake platform.
