About the position

The Business Intelligence Analyst at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute plays a crucial role in delivering actionable insights and analytics to support nursing quality and patient safety initiatives. This position involves working on various analytical tasks, blending data from multiple sources to create metrics, reports, and dashboards, and consulting with stakeholders to identify operational improvements. The analyst will focus on establishing foundational infrastructure for descriptive analytics and will have opportunities to advance into predictive analytics, contributing to the overall mission of enhancing patient care through data-driven insights.

Responsibilities

• Work on multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
• Collaborate with manager to identify high-level business needs and develop project charters.
• Consult with the business to define project scope and gather business requirements.
• Identify data sources and develop technical data design requirements.
• Develop visualization wireframes and leverage BI tools to create visualizations and dashboards.
• Write SQL queries to develop data sources.
• Collaborate with internal teams for quality assurance.
• Contribute to the development of analytic assets for institute-wide use.
• Collaborate with other teams to build analytical tools in advanced analytics.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field required.
• 1 year of experience in business intelligence or related field.
• Master's degree in STEM preferred.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, or R.
• Experience with BI tools such as Tableau.
• Familiarity with EPIC Clarity Data model, Snowflake, and DataBricks preferred.
• Tableau certification required within 6 months of hire.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with statistical methods and predictive analytics.
• Excellent communication skills to convey insights effectively.
