About the position

The Business Intelligence Analyst at the University of Texas at Austin will work within the Educational Leadership and Policy department, focusing on analyzing and summarizing data for a new survey aimed at assessing student engagement among dual enrollment community college students. This role involves data management, development of interactive dashboards, and providing analytical support for various projects, including conference presentations and national reports. The position is fixed-term, expected to continue until December 31, 2025, with potential for renewal based on performance and funding.

Responsibilities

• Assist in extracting and transforming data from diverse sources, ensuring it is ready for analytical use.
• Design and develop interactive dashboards and visualizations to effectively communicate key trends and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Perform ad hoc analyses.
• Maintain complete and detailed documentation for all assigned projects.
• Provide support for team members in data analysis and reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as statistics, computer science, or data analytics.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience programming in SAS, Python, R, or SPSS.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in data visualization and dashboard development using PowerBI, Python, R, or Tableau.
• Experience working with large data sets.
• Experience with quantitative data analysis.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work in teams as well as independently.

Nice-to-haves

• Three (3) or more years of extracting and transforming data.
• Three (3) or more years of experience with data visualization, preferably Python or Power BI.
