About the position

KBX is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst who will work closely with members of Support, Operations, Purchasing, and Business Development teams to evaluate trends through the design and development of reports and the analysis and interpretation of data using SQL, Microsoft Power BI, SSRS, Excel, and a variety of development and visualization tools. This includes the development of database tools, data analysis to evaluate the service and cost of KBX, and provision of data support for various programs and ad hoc reports. The Business Intelligence and Automation team, comprising 10 diverse members with various skills and experiences, fosters inclusivity as a central tenet. Responsibilities

  • Create and deliver analytics to operations and the business to lower total transportation costs and improve dedicated utilization.
  • Dive into the data and systems to understand what is driving or impacting the key metrics and results.
  • Interpret results using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining.
  • Write queries to extract data and build visualizations/analytical models to support business needs and fulfill business requirements.
  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain business solutions.
  • Synthesize large amounts of information while maintaining rigorous attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with business requestors and IT developers to implement new enhancements and innovations; understand the implications enhancements will have on data structures and query effectiveness.
  • Review data and reporting to ensure data integrity and compliance to standard reporting.
  • Leverage SQL or other programming languages to structure data to extract and organize consumable data sets.
  • Effectively influence, communicate, and build relationships with teammates, internal and external customers.
  • Develop data visualization tools in Power BI and SSRS to enable users to find key trends.

Requirements

  • Experience writing complex transactional data queries to integrate into other applications via languages such as R or Python or SQL.
  • Experience using math and analytical skills in a professional environment.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Excel writing complex formulas, pivot tables, and vlookups.
  • Experience articulating and educating data findings to customers or stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate degree or higher.
  • Experience with the use of Microsoft Power BI for data visualizations.
  • Experience integrating data via Microsoft Power Automate solutions.
  • Experience leveraging data from Snowflake.
  • Experience writing technical queries in Python or R.
  • Experience in the analytical or logistics industry.
