About the position

The Business Intelligence Analyst at Carter Lumber is responsible for leveraging both internal and external data to address business challenges through data mining and analytics. This role requires effective communication with field teams and internal departments to ensure successful outcomes. The analyst will focus on establishing key performance indicators (KPIs), conducting margin and pricing analysis, and developing data visualizations to support business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Establish KPIs, set benchmarks, and perform forecasting.
• Utilize external and internal data for mining and problem-solving.
• Conduct margin and pricing analysis to support business objectives.
• Develop and present opportunities to improve business practices.
• Maintain data visualizations across the company and provide a centralized clear message.
• Develop interactive dashboards using BI software and explain the data thoroughly.
• Collaborate with management to investigate issues and provide solutions.
• Adjust on the fly and answer questions via data visualizations.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the US.
• Must be able to reliably commute to Kent, OH.
• Degree in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, Economics or similar.
• Ability to look for trends, analyze and report on data.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of SQL preferred.
• Working knowledge of data structures and data modeling.
• Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills.
• Familiarity with current BI software solutions.
• Smartsheet experience preferred.
