About the position

The Business Intelligence Analyst (BI&A Product Owner) role is a contract-to-hire position based in Columbus, Ohio, that focuses on leveraging data analytics and visualization tools to enhance business decision-making. The analyst will collaborate with various business stakeholders to understand their needs and develop analytical solutions that improve business performance. This position requires a strong understanding of business processes and the ability to translate business priorities into data requirements for internal analytic products.

Responsibilities

• Use data analytics and visualization tools to support effective business decision-making.
• Understand business processes and develop use cases for analytical solutions.
• Write user stories and acceptance tests in collaboration with business stakeholders.
• Contribute to cost/benefit analysis for data analytic solutions and digital tools.
• Serve as a proactive thought partner to improve business outcomes through data analysis and dashboards.
• Partner with business to translate priorities into data needs and desired outcomes.
• Groom a backlog of features and data to support the BI&A roadmap.
• Act as a subject matter expert and product evangelist for data and analytics tools.
• Work with cross-functional teams to resolve business process gaps related to data usage.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in IT, Business, Science, or Math.
• 10+ years of experience in business data analysis and requirements building.
• Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey analytical concepts in business language.
• Experience with SQL, Tableau, and other analytical technologies.
• Knowledge of the agile software development process.
