About the position

The Business Intelligence Architect/Developer position in Fairfax, VA, is a contract role focused on leading the design and implementation of semantic layers on top of Snowflake and/or Postgres within a Microsoft Azure environment. The successful candidate will analyze business needs and recommend appropriate BI tools that ensure optimal performance for Data Analysts. This role involves spearheading a company-wide BI solution implementation, assisting clients in a consulting capacity with the implementation and utilization of BI tools and technologies, and troubleshooting any BI-related issues while providing support to users. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for developing documentation and training materials to support BI users effectively. A significant aspect of this role includes working with healthcare data, particularly in the payer space, and leveraging cloud technologies, especially MS Azure and Snowflake.

Responsibilities

• Leading the design and implementation of semantic layers on top of Snowflake and/or Postgres in an MS Azure environment.
• Analyzing business needs and recommending an appropriate BI tool that will provide the required performance for Data Analysts.
• Leading a business-wide BI solution implementation.
• Assisting clients in a consulting capacity with implementing and using BI tools and technologies.
• Troubleshooting BI issues and problems and providing support to BI users.
• Developing documentation and training materials as required to support the BI users.
• Working with healthcare data, preferably in the payer space.
• Utilizing cloud technologies, preferably MS Azure and Snowflake.

Requirements

• 8-10+ years of experience working in the BI space at an Architect level.
• Demonstrated project experience with multiple leading cloud BI tools.
• 2+ years experience working with Snowflake and Postgres databases.
• Experience implementing BI solutions in Azure cloud environments.
• Demonstrable experience in evaluating business needs and implementing BI strategies to meet those needs.
