About the position

The Business Intelligence Analyst at Alaska Airlines plays a crucial role in the Analytics and Strategy Team, focusing on advanced analytics to enhance operational performance and develop effective business strategies. This position involves data analysis, demand modeling, optimization, and project management, with an emphasis on translating business intelligence strategies into actionable insights and decision support tools. Responsibilities

• Analyze data to make recommendations for problem-solving and solutions to complex business issues.
• Develop visualizations and dashboards to communicate results and insights effectively.
• Collaborate with diverse teams to align performance with strategic goals and metrics.
• Implement systems and technology for decision support tools that enable strategic actions.
• Conduct advanced analytical experiments and models that blend various data sources.

Requirements

• 2 years of analytical experience or a related area for P2 level; 4 years for P3 level.
• Bachelor's degree in mathematics, economics, finance, statistics, business, computer science, or engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Detailed knowledge of business intelligence functions including analytics, data mining, reporting, and data modeling.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience with disparate data sources and data blending.
• Proficiency in visualization techniques and tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
