About the position

The Business Intelligence Business Analyst (BIBA) role at GEICO is essential for bridging the gap between business units and technical execution of business intelligence projects. Reporting to the Director or Senior Manager of Business Intelligence, the BIBA will utilize Agile Scrum methodologies to provide optimal data-related solutions that enhance strategic decision-making and operational efficiency within supported business units. This position requires a deep understanding of business operations and the ability to effectively gather, document, and communicate project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with business units to understand their business intelligence needs and document precise requirements for BI projects.
• Guide business units in selecting appropriate data-related solutions, evaluating tools and technologies such as SQL, Power BI, Power Query, SharePoint, and Power Apps.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications for development by BI Analysts, ensuring clarity and feasibility.
• Generate necessary artifacts, including user stories, process diagrams, and data flowcharts, to support project development and implementation.
• Secure approvals from all required stakeholders to ensure alignment and compliance across departments.
• Act as a liaison between business units and the development team, providing necessary information for project completion.
• Participate actively in Agile Scrum ceremonies to contribute to continuous improvement of processes and outcomes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant work experience (preferred).
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Strong multitasking skills.
• Capacity to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
