About the position

The TikTok Monetization Products data science team is dedicated to enabling and championing data-driven decision-making. Our vision is to become a world-class data science team, where data is rigorously used to drive all decision-making processes. The mission of this team is to drive monetization and sustainable revenue growth for TikTok through data science. As a Business Intelligence Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in this mission by driving the iteration of TikTok Ads Datahub, which serves as the central hub for monetization data. You will work to improve data product capabilities to identify and meet the needs of both internal and external users. In this role, you will conduct deep dives into operational execution and business problems, utilizing analytical and statistical rigor to uncover insights and opportunities. Your analyses and presentations will influence business decisions and improve overall business results. You will be responsible for creating best-in-class metrics, analyses, visualizations, and data-driven storytelling that effectively communicate findings and recommendations. Additionally, you will design product prototypes that reflect best practices in reporting, visualization, and analysis, and produce technical documents related to product requirements, development, testing, and user manuals. Coordination and driving resources from various cross-functional teams for implementation will also be a key part of your responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the iteration of TikTok Ads Datahub and improve data product capabilities to meet user needs.
  • Deep dive into operations execution and business problems to identify insights and opportunities.
  • Influence business decisions through analysis and presentations.
  • Create best-in-class metrics, analysis, visualizations, and data-driven storytelling to improve business results.
  • Design product prototypes reflecting best practices in reporting, visualization, and analysis.
  • Produce technical documents related to product requirements, development, testing, and user manuals.
  • Coordinate and drive resources from various cross-functional teams for implementation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of proficiency in data manipulation, including SQL and Python.
  • 3+ years of experience building well-designed dashboards using Tableau, PowerBI, or similar software.
  • Experience programming to extract, transform, and clean large (multi-TB) data sets.
  • Ability to understand business customer needs and abstract them into data product requirements.
  • Experience in the entire process of commercial product development from inception to scaling.
  • Deep understanding of the digital advertisement industry and its methodologies.
  • Strong structured and logical thinking skills, sensitivity to data, and excellent analytical capabilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with machine learning techniques and their application in data analysis.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and modeling techniques.
