About the position

Tetra Tech is seeking a Business Intelligence Data Analyst to join their Public Assistance team, based in either Maitland, Florida or Houston, Texas. This hybrid role focuses on leveraging advanced analytics and reporting to support grant-funded programs, ensuring accurate data management and financial reconciliation. The analyst will play a crucial role in summarizing data trends and reporting on key project metrics, contributing to Tetra Tech's mission of driving positive change through innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and oversee daily administrative, data entry, reporting, and reconciliation functions under the supervision of the Program Manager.
  • Report on key project metrics and summarize data trends.
  • Develop analytics and reporting using Microsoft Power BI Desktop and Paginated Report Builder.
  • Perform QA/QC reconciliation of application records, invoice records, and material use records for grant-funded programs.
  • Create project reports based on aggregated program data as required by the project.
  • Coordinate, review, analyze, and summarize financial data for grant-funded programs.
  • Conduct data cleansing and metric reporting off large datasets for project management needs.
  • Assist in evaluating the fiscal administration of grant programs.
  • Reconcile federal and state grants, cost estimates, audits, and other initiatives that support disaster recovery efforts.
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or computer science preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in finance, accounting, data analytics, and/or business administration.
  • Prior experience with federal grant funding preferred.
  • At least two years of experience with Microsoft Power BI and SQL preferred.
  • Intermediate or better proficiency in DAX and Data Modeling using Star Schemas.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Power Query and data ETL Processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Word).
  • Advanced technical skills utilizing Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to create and maintain process automation documentation.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
