About the position

This position provides hybrid telework opportunities, with employees required to work in-person at least two days per week. Under the direction of the Information Technology Manager I (ITM I), the Information Technology Associate (ITA) assumes the role of Business Intelligence Data Analyst. The ITA is responsible for analyzing, developing, reviewing, implementing, documenting, and supporting business intelligence applications and data efforts for CalHR. Applications include the statewide Learning Management System (LMS) Data Sharing and Reporting projects, Exam and Certification Online System (ECOS/Calcareers), CalHR Enterprise Data Warehouse and Enterprise Data Management (EDM) systems. Additionally, the ITA is tasked with enhancing the Employee Core Record (ECR) and Learning Core Record (LCR) databases for statewide training data collection and management. As well as creating data and reporting architecture. The ITA collaborates closely with departmental business stakeholders and other departments that share LMS data with CalHR. Responsibilities include defining data, reporting requirements, evaluating reporting solutions, implementing statewide reporting solutions, conducting data inventory, performing data quality analysis, coordinating data cleanup across agencies with SCO, executing business intelligence, and reporting implementation tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and develop business intelligence applications and data efforts for CalHR.
  • Review and implement data sharing and reporting projects for the statewide Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Enhance the Employee Core Record (ECR) and Learning Core Record (LCR) databases for statewide training data collection.
  • Create data and reporting architecture for various applications.
  • Collaborate with departmental business stakeholders and other departments sharing LMS data.
  • Define data and reporting requirements for business intelligence applications.
  • Evaluate and implement statewide reporting solutions.
  • Conduct data inventory and perform data quality analysis.
  • Coordinate data cleanup across agencies with the State Controller's Office (SCO).
  • Execute business intelligence and reporting implementation tasks.

Requirements

  • Experience in business intelligence and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in data management and reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders and departments.
  • Experience with data quality analysis and data cleanup processes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Experience with enterprise data warehouses and data management systems.
  • Knowledge of state government data reporting requirements.
