About the position

The Business Intelligence Data Analyst at Tetra Tech will play a crucial role in the Public Assistance team, focusing on data analytics, reporting, and administrative functions. This hybrid position requires attention to detail and the ability to manage large datasets, ensuring accurate reporting on key project metrics and supporting disaster recovery efforts through financial data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Analytics and Reporting using Microsoft Power BI Desktop and Paginated Report Builder
  • QA/QC reconciliation of application records, invoice records, and material use records for grant-funded programs
  • Create project reports based on aggregated program data as required by the project
  • Coordinate, review, analyze, and summarize financial data for grant-funded programs
  • Perform data cleansing and metric reporting off large datasets for project management needs
  • Assist in evaluating the fiscal administration of grant programs
  • Reconcile federal and state grants, cost estimates, audits, and other initiatives that support disaster recovery efforts
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards
  • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness
  • Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in finance, accounting, data analytics, and/or business administration
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or computer science preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • Prior experience with federal grant funding preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI and SQL preferred
  • Intermediate or better proficiency in DAX and Data Modeling using Star Schemas
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Power Query and data ETL Processes
  • Proficiency in Office suite (Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Word)
  • Advanced technical skills utilizing Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to create and maintain process automation documentation
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to work attentively with minimal supervision
  • Problem-solving skills for day-to-day business automation processes
  • Extraordinary attention to detail
  • Adaptability to work on various deliverables while maintaining professionalism.
