About the position

The Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Developer is a key role responsible for designing, developing, and implementing analytics tools and data solutions within the healthcare sector. This position requires a deep understanding of business data needs and involves interfacing with various stakeholders to create reports, dashboards, and analytics that drive business actions. The Senior BI Developer will also mentor junior developers and contribute to complex projects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality BI solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement analytics tools and data solutions.
  • Gather requirements and analyze data to develop robust analytics solutions.
  • Interface with clinical, financial, and operational business leaders to design reports and dashboards.
  • Plan, design, architect, develop, test, and implement new BI solutions.
  • Troubleshoot, monitor, and maintain existing BI solutions.
  • Write relational and multidimensional database queries that meet performance objectives.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and document best practices.
  • Mentor less experienced BI Developers and act as an informal project manager as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems (MIS), Business or related/relevant degree AND minimum of 4 years of experience as a BI Developer, Data Analyst, Business Analyst, Operations Analyst, Data Engineer, Database Developer, and/or Technical/Systems/Application Analyst OR Minimum of 6 years of experience in similar roles.
  • Expertise with business intelligence tools: Microsoft BI stack, SAP Business Objects, TIBCO Spotfire, Tableau, Crystal Reports, etc.
  • Expertise programming in SQL, Python, R, SAS or equivalent programming languages.
  • Strong experience in data warehousing design and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience operating efficiently within the Business Intelligence development lifecycle.
  • Proven experience with business and technical requirements gathering, analysis, and verification.
  • Strong experience in planning, designing, architecting, developing and supporting BI solutions.
  • Strong experience debugging, monitoring, and troubleshooting BI solutions.
  • Experience leading and managing small scale data and technology projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare, provider and/or managed care/insurance environment preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in information technology preferred.
  • Holds current Epic certifications: Epic Cogito, Caboodle Data Model, Clarity Data Model, and at least one of the following - Clinical/Patient Access/Revenue Cycle Data Model.
  • Experience utilizing, developing and supporting Epic Cogito tools.
