About the position

The Business Intelligence Developer is a critical IT professional responsible for analyzing, providing specifications for, and developing reports and dashboards that support the data initiatives for healthcare entities. This role requires a strong background in business intelligence and analytic tools such as ACL, Oracle SQL Developer, SAP Business Objects, QlikView, Tableau, Toad, or Crystal Reports. The BI Developer is expected to have programming experience in SQL, R, Python, ACL, or equivalent programming languages. In this position, the BI Developer will design and plan automated analytical solutions, as well as debug, monitor, and troubleshoot these solutions. Writing relational database queries and having experience with data warehousing and data modeling are essential. The BI Developer will also engage in business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development. Building productive relationships with end users is crucial, as the developer must listen, clarify, and respond effectively to their needs. The role involves participating in project teams while also being capable of working independently. The BI Developer will manage relationships with vendors, coordinating issues as they arise. Clear and concise documentation is a key responsibility, adhering to established standards. The individual must embody the mission, philosophy, core values, and customer service plan of Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center in all activities, which serve all departments and age groups.

Responsibilities

  • Develops or codes BI Applications to enhance business decision-making capabilities.
  • Creates and interprets SQL queries using Oracle SQL Developer and/or other SQL tools.
  • Identifies data discrepancies and data quality issues, working with other enterprise analytics members and SMEs to ensure data consistency and integrity.
  • Analyzes, manipulates, and understands data to present and create dashboards for business decisions.
  • Collects and analyzes business requirements and implements solutions.
  • Provides production and development support, monitoring, and maintenance of scheduled analytic jobs.
  • Ensures the integrity of the output, including validation of the data in BI Applications, systems, and data domains.
  • Executes and provides status on project work plans, revising as necessary to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Tests analytic performance and accuracy before data source or application upgrades.
  • Writes clear and concise documentation for each analytic or report developed.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or related field required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or related field preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in report or BI development or current Epic Certification as Cogito PM, Clinical, Access, or Revenue Data Model.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.
  • Current Epic Application certification is required.
