About the position

The Business Intelligence Developer - Healthcare (EPIC Certified) role involves creating, maintaining, and optimizing data reports and dashboards to support decision-making within a healthcare analytics team. The position requires expertise in EPIC data models and reporting tools, with a focus on improving patient outcomes and organizational efficiency through data-driven insights.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain BI solutions, including data models, reports, and dashboards using EPIC's reporting tools such as Clarity, Caboodle, and Crystal Reports.
• Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from EPIC systems and other healthcare data sources to create meaningful analytics for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to understand their data needs and provide actionable insights.
• Use EPIC-certified tools to develop customized reporting solutions that improve decision-making processes and support clinical and operational workflows.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data integrity, performance, and system integrations.
• Perform data validation to ensure the accuracy and quality of all reports and dashboards.
• Stay up-to-date with EPIC upgrades and new features, incorporating them into the BI environment as needed.
• Provide training and support to end-users on how to access and utilize reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.
• Ensure all reporting solutions comply with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and data privacy standards.

Requirements

• EPIC certification in one or more of the following: Clarity, Caboodle, Crystal Reports, or other relevant EPIC modules.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Healthcare Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a BI Developer, Data Analyst, or similar role in a healthcare environment.
• Strong experience with healthcare data, including clinical, financial, and operational data sets.
• Expertise in SQL for querying databases, extracting data, and building complex reports.
• Knowledge of EPIC's data structures and experience using EPIC's reporting and BI tools (Clarity, Caboodle, etc.).
• Proficient in data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to translate complex data into easy-to-understand insights for stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with additional EPIC modules or certifications.
• Experience with ETL tools and processes.
• Experience working in a large healthcare organization or health system.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations and data privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA).
