About the position

The Business Intelligence Developer role at UnitedHealthcare focuses on creating, maintaining, and updating business intelligence solutions that enhance the healthcare experience. Responsibilities

  • Own the creation, maintenance, and updates to key business intelligence solutions used by business partners.
  • Develop data models through SQL and Power BI scripting.
  • Coordinate and deliver release milestones for BI solutions.
  • Work with the business to understand and accurately deliver on business needs.
  • Collaborate with ETL developers to convey data requirements for building and maintaining a source of truth data layer.
  • Ensure data accuracy and implementation of BI UI standards with testers.
  • Anticipate and prepare for business challenges, remaining calm under pressure.
  • Provide recommendations to achieve broader business goals.
  • Participate in ad-hoc analysis and data pulls to assist business partners.
  • Mentor and coach team members on development and progress towards goals.
  • Train team on job skills, product information, systems, and processes.
  • Monitor and train team members on compliance requirements.
  • Encourage a culture of innovation and creativity, adapting to new challenges.
  • Identify ways to improve efficiency in workflows and time-to-market challenges.
  • Find ways to automate manual processes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years SQL experience, including complex queries and optimization.
  • 5+ years of data visualization and data modeling in business intelligence tools.
  • 3+ years of data analysis experience.
  • Experience leading complex projects.
  • Experience coaching others.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Medicare products and/or Medicare business, CMS regulations.
  • Experience in Sales or Regulatory, including working with CRM software.
  • Experience with Power BI and DAX.
  • Experience with software development lifecycle concepts.
  • Experience with data modeling concepts, like star schema, slowly changing dimensions, etc.
  • Experience with statistical modeling and/or data science.
  • Proven ability and interest in partnering with business groups to solve problems.
  • Solid communication skills with experience presenting ideas and solutions to business customers.
