About the position

The Business Intelligence Developer III position at L.A. Care Health Plan is a critical role focused on developing and supporting reporting solutions to meet the needs of IT and Business Senior Management. This position involves collaborating with business analysts and stakeholders to translate specifications into comprehensive reporting designs, ensuring the delivery of high-quality data insights to support strategic planning and project management.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Business Analysts and key business contacts to translate functional and technical specifications into a comprehensive reporting design.
  • Assist in requirements analysis, data analysis, data mapping, report development & testing, report modifications, and documentation.
  • Determine and develop strategy and framework for consistent report standards.
  • Perform research/audit and analyze high-level complex/advanced data.
  • Define, design, and develop new/enhanced reports in support of strategic planning, portfolio, and project management.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert and serve as a resource and mentor for other staff.
  • Liaison between IT Business Intelligence developmental team and business clients.
  • Design database architectures, data warehouses, and data migrations.
  • Create business intelligence packages and implement user reporting solutions.
  • Meet with technical leaders to document and vet business requirements.
  • Perform project management activities to drive projects to completion on schedule.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain ETL (extract, transform, and load) solutions.
  • Provide training, recommend process improvements, and mentor junior staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent education and/or experience may be considered).
  • At least 5 years of experience in Business Intelligence and OBIEE reporting development.
  • At least 5 years of experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
  • Hands-on experience developing reports using various tools and processes.
  • Knowledge of creating Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) technology.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work.
  • Strong communication skills to work with the project team.
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable hardware/software configurations and programming.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
