About the position

The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer role at Nouria Energy is focused on strategically designing, implementing, and maintaining BI software and systems. This position aims to empower employees to leverage data for insightful business decisions and streamline operations. The BI Developer will work closely with various stakeholders to conduct needs analyses, develop integrations with databases, and ensure high levels of system availability through support functions and continuous optimization of data processes.

Responsibilities

• Work with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for information technologies, particularly in BI, analytics, and data warehousing.
• Identify, refine, and develop key BI metrics, reporting, and dashboards for various business roles and functions.
• Evaluate and recommend BI solutions, and database/data warehouse components, including hardware and ETL software.
• Analyze user requirements and design functional specifications for BI front-end applications and analytical tools.
• Assist in the development of data management policies, procedures, and corporate data strategy.
• Conduct in-depth evaluations of various data sources and their associated business functions.
• Design databases and data warehouses to support robust historical and correlative analyses.
• Create models for new database development and/or changes to existing models.
• Produce ETL design guidelines and maintain ETL pipeline processes for BI systems.
• Monitor database system details within production systems and implement efficiency improvements.
• Develop integrations for BI platforms with enterprise systems and applications.
• Design, code, test, and document all new or modified BI systems, applications, and programs.
• Develop SQL queries and reports to meet the analytical needs of the business.
• Troubleshoot and performance-tune BI and database tools, systems, and software.
• Mentor and provide leadership to team members.
• Design and deliver end-user training and training materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or Mathematics.
• Minimum of 6 years of direct work experience implementing and developing BI solutions.
• Comprehensive data warehouse analysis and design experience.
• Proven experience in BI/data warehousing planning and development.
• Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
• Extensive knowledge of SQL, T-SQL, OLAP Cubes, and data manipulation languages.
• Experience with tier-one applications, databases, and data warehouse support.
• Extensive experience implementing and maintaining Enterprise BI visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and MS SSRS.
• Experience working with data lakes such as Snowflake and/or Azure Synapse Analytics is a plus.
• Demonstrated knowledge of scripting languages (such as PowerShell and Python).
• Prior database administrator experience for routine maintenance and performance tuning.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience within the convenience and retail fuel industry is a plus.
• Strong understanding of retail and/or fuel financial/business processes and associated analytics.
