About the position

As a Business Intelligence Developer at Solventum, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing healthcare solutions through innovative data-driven insights. You will be responsible for designing and developing robust Business Intelligence solutions that cater to the needs of healthcare customers. Your work will involve hands-on development and guidance for agile product teams, focusing on cloud-based Business Intelligence solutions that leverage the latest technologies. In this role, you will engage in various initiatives aimed at exposing data and building comprehensive dashboards that provide valuable insights for healthcare stakeholders. You will assist in the design efforts of new project initiatives, collaborating closely with subject matter experts to profile and prototype data effectively. Implementing best practices for reporting and dashboard creation will be a key aspect of your responsibilities, as you work alongside internal technical teams and AWS support to ensure high-quality deliverables. Your collaboration with business partners and technical staff will be essential in understanding functional requirements and creating system specifications. You will support stakeholders in maintaining consistency within the reporting environment, managing releases, and adhering to established standards and best practices. Additionally, you will create document style reporting, including Narrowcast services for automated report delivery, and partner with various teams to resolve reporting inefficiencies. As a mentor, you will assist less experienced colleagues in adopting best practices and fundamental engineering techniques, ensuring a culture of continuous improvement. Your role will also involve providing operational product support and troubleshooting issues through root cause analysis, contributing to the overall success of the Business Intelligence & Analytics team.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing solutions for the Business Intelligence & Analytics team.
• Developing initiatives to expose data and build dashboards for Health Care customers.
• Assisting Business Intelligence design efforts of new project initiatives, including meeting with subject matter experts on data, profiling data, and prototyping.
• Implementing Report and Dashboard best practices with internal technical team and the AWS support team.
• Collaborating with business partners and other technical staff to understand functional requirements and create system requirements, assess available technologies, and recommend solution options.
• Supporting various stakeholders to ensure consistency within the environment, release management, and the effective use of standards and best practices.
• Creating document style (RSD) reporting, including the creation of Narrowcast services for automated report delivery.
• Partnering with the Business team, System Architects, Data Architects, and DBAs to resolve reporting inefficiencies.
• Multitasking and re-prioritizing efforts on a regular basis.
• Actively participating in requirements gathering sessions and ongoing best-practice definition discussions.
• Assisting and mentoring less experienced colleagues with standards and best practices.
• Practicing and advocating fundamental engineering techniques, discipline, and best practices including requirements development, planning and estimation, configuration management, performance testing, and quality assurance.
• Providing operational product support and problem resolution through root cause analysis and other troubleshooting techniques.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or higher AND 3 years of experience in database development OR High School Diploma/GED and 7 years of experience in database development.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience developing dashboards and reports using an enterprise Business Intelligence or Reporting platform.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience building simple to complex SQL queries.

Nice-to-haves

• Preferred 3 years of experience building solutions comprised of analytics derived from large data warehouses or equivalent large data sets.
• Experience using AWS QuickSight building advanced dashboards.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or related field.
• Solid understanding of relational structures, dimensional data modeling, Data Warehouse and BI techniques.
• Experience on techniques using Filters, Prompts, Templates, Hierarchies, Metrics, and Attributes.
• Ability to troubleshoot and research data and reporting issues.
• Demonstrated experience in dashboard and report development, testing, tuning, scheduling report delivery and alerts.
• Work experience in the healthcare industry and/or with healthcare data.
• Demonstrated abilities in creative problem solving and critical thinking.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Strong communicator, possessing interpersonal skills and judgment to interact effectively with a broad spectrum of people, both individually and in groups.
• Excellent analytical and documentation skills.
