About the position

The Business Intelligence Developer at Mass General Brigham is responsible for creating visual data representations to support healthcare administration. This role involves developing dashboards and reports that are user-friendly for non-analytical audiences, optimizing data from various healthcare sources, and ensuring high data quality. The position requires collaboration with stakeholders to understand their needs and promote innovative data visualization practices using tools like Tableau.

Responsibilities

  • Develop visual data representations using charts, graphs, infographics, and other diagrams.
  • Design, develop, refine, and test dashboards in an iterative process.
  • Optimize data from multiple healthcare sources to meet reporting and analytical needs.
  • Distribute content via Tableau Server following best practices.
  • Understand business needs and develop actionable dashboards and reports using Tableau.
  • Promote innovative uses of Tableau in healthcare administration.
  • Retrieve, organize, and manipulate data from the Enterprise Data Warehouse and other databases using programming languages like SQL.
  • Complete thorough quality assurance procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability of work.
  • Collaborate with the Business Intelligence team, scrum teams, and key stakeholders to design and execute analytic products.

Requirements

  • BS/BA or equivalent required; Master's degree desirable.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience designing reports and dashboards using Tableau and other data visualization tools.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with programming languages and/or statistical software (SQL, SAS, Python, or R).
  • 3+ years working with Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server.
  • Familiarity with data preparation techniques and tools such as Alteryx and Tableau Prep.
  • High degree of design literacy and solid visual design skillsets.
  • Basic literacy in client-side web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and experience with Tableau extensions.
