About the position

The Business Intelligence Developer at TMC Transportation is responsible for designing, developing, and deploying Power BI reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights to support business decision-making. This role involves data modeling, performance optimization, and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure effective data solutions. The position also includes user training, documentation, and quality assurance to maintain data accuracy and consistency across reports.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy Power BI reports, dashboards, and data visualizations that meet business requirements.
• Create and maintain complex data models within Power BI, including ETL processes.
• Optimize Power BI reports for performance, ensuring efficient data retrieval and processing.
• Conduct data analysis to support decision-making processes and identify trends.
• Collaborate with business analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into Power BI solutions.
• Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI functionality and best practices.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of report designs, data models, and processes.
• Ensure accuracy and consistency of data across reports through rigorous testing and validation.
• Stay current with the latest developments in Power BI and related technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and Power BI Service.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
• Advanced DAX knowledge for complex calculations and data manipulation.
• Experience with other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik, Cognos, QuickSight) is a plus.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Snowflake) and data integration tools (e.g., SSIS) is desirable.
• Excellent communication skills to present complex data clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate or equivalent certifications are highly desirable.
