The Business Intelligence Developer at Spalding Consulting, Inc. plays a crucial role in delivering innovative solutions to the Department of Defense. This position involves developing applications that support large-scale databases and utilizing Business Intelligence tools to create insightful reports and dashboards. Responsibilities

  • Develop applications that support large-scale databases using agile software development methodology.
  • Use Business Intelligence tools to develop meaningful reports, charts, and dashboards for insight into aviation readiness.
  • Apply expertise in data analytics using Cognos as a business intelligence tool.
  • Manage data strings and produce calculations and reports to turn data into knowledge regarding fleet readiness.
  • Collaborate with other technical experts in an atmosphere that fosters innovation.
  • Develop innovative solutions using modern tools, frameworks, and methodologies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

  • At least six (6) years' experience design and develop enterprise business intelligence, data warehousing and reporting solutions.
  • At least six (6) years' combined experience with BI tools including IBM COGNOS 10.X and 11.X, Business Objects, Qlik, Tableau, etc.
  • OS level certification required. Ability to obtain within 90 days.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline is highly desired.

Nice-to-haves

  • At least six (6) years' experience with Oracle, Teradata and/or Sybase.
  • Familiar with Amazon QuickSight and Amazon Q.
  • Strong SQL experience.
  • Experience with Qlik.
  • Experience with Business Objects.
  • Experience with Cognos dashboards and DQM.
  • Experience in web constructs such as JAVA, HTML, XHTML, XML, and CSS.
  • Experience working with Application Lifecycle and Configuration Management software.
  • Experience with JIRA.
  • Experience with TFS.
