The Business Intelligence Analyst at the University of Michigan Health Sparrow plays a crucial role in a dynamic healthcare environment. This position is responsible for overseeing the entire Business Intelligence (BI) development life cycle, which includes initial requirement analysis, documentation, prototyping, design, development, implementation, quality assurance, and user acceptance testing. The BI Analyst will collaborate with both internal and external customers to gather their requirements and present analytical results in a clear and comprehensible manner. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the technology solutions provided meet the reporting and data analytic needs of the Sparrow Health System (SHS) applications. In this role, the BI Analyst will be tasked with creating data visualizations, dashboards, and reporting solutions derived from various healthcare data sources, including Epic EMR and Lawson. The analyst will drive initiatives aimed at improving BI and data analytic processes and technology, utilizing data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities that can benefit the organization. Furthermore, the analyst will analyze how information systems and reporting solutions can be leveraged to reduce costs, enhance revenue, improve efficiency, and deliver higher quality data and reporting. Effective communication with business users and senior leaders is essential, as the analyst will need to identify opportunities to leverage data and reporting solutions. The role also involves researching and recommending best practices for healthcare reporting solutions, creating documentation for BI and data analytic solutions, and assisting in customer training sessions. The BI Analyst will provide go-live support, manage ticket queues, resolve common report and data issues, and execute test scripts for unit and integrated testing. Additionally, the analyst will lead small projects and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team, all while demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to improving systems and processes.
