About the position

The BI Developer at MSC Technology plays a crucial role in developing and maintaining analytics solutions, specifically focusing on Azure Analysis Services and tabular cubes. This position involves collaboration with a team of developers to enhance business intelligence capabilities, ensuring data integrity and quality while supporting fact-based decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Design, document, administer, and maintain Azure Analysis Services (AAS) cubes using DAX.
• Analyze existing complex systems to understand and document data elements, relationships, data flow, dependencies, and their related interfaces.
• Perform unit testing and resolve defects in BI solutions.
• Design, develop, and support back-end solutions for intuitive reports and dashboards using Microsoft Fabric capabilities.
• Create data models with calculated columns, measures, and calculated tables.
• Mentor and support other developers and business partners.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation for the team.
• Provide training and knowledge transfer of technology to team members.
• Monitor and tune performance of the BI environment, automating production activities as needed.
• Investigate questions regarding data integrity and quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology.
• Minimum 2 years of business experience in design, development, maintenance, and performance tuning on Azure Analysis Services.
• Expertise in SQL and T-SQL programming skills.
• Experience with dimensional data modeling.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure DB, Azure Data Warehouse, or Fabric is a significant plus.
• Experience in creating data warehouses is a big plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Strong knowledge of emerging technologies and tools.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
