About the position

The Business Intelligence Engineer II (BIE) role within the Centralized Data and Insights Team (CDI) at AWS focuses on developing scalable reporting solutions that drive insights for the AWS Specialist Partner Organization (ASP). This position requires a blend of technical expertise in data processing and strong communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders. The BIE will leverage large datasets to create actionable insights and reporting artifacts that support the sales and operational strategies of AWS.

Responsibilities

  • Implement data pipelines from disparate sources to ingest, transform, and store data in a scalable format.
  • Gather and understand data requirements, working with cross-functional teams to achieve high-quality data solutions.
  • Dive deep into requirements to unearth optimal reporting design with Operations leads.
  • Build end-to-end BI solutions.
  • Determine lineage to understand data transformation and build enablement material.
  • Create interactive data visuals using tools like QuickSight, Tableau, and Matplotlib.
  • Explore and learn the latest AWS technologies to enhance capabilities and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Experience writing complex SQL queries.
  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse.
  • Scripting experience in Python for data processing and modeling.
  • Experience developing and presenting recommendations for new metrics.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift.
  • Experience in data mining and ETL processes.
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau and QuickSight.
