About the position

The Amazon Publisher Monetization (APM) team is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) to develop scalable analytics solutions that support the growth of Amazon's advertising services for publishers. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to create metrics that inform business decisions, automate analytics processes, and enhance the overall customer experience. The BIE will work in a dynamic environment, leveraging a range of technologies to address business challenges and drive innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product team to understand business requirements and implement solutions to support product plans.
  • Design, develop and maintain scalable, automated, user-friendly systems, reports, and dashboards enabling stakeholders to manage the business and make effective decisions.
  • Implement training and documentation solutions that enable stakeholders to maximize the use of self-serve analytics tools.
  • Develop and support analytical technologies that provide customers with timely, flexible, and structured access to their data.
  • Define, develop, and maintain critical business and operational reports reviewed on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Analyze historical data to extract meaningful insights from large and complex datasets to identify trends and support decision making, including written and verbal presentation of results and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with software development teams to implement analytics systems and data structures to support large-scale data analysis and delivery of machine learning models.
  • Understand Amazon's data resources, which to use, how, and when.
  • Conduct ad hoc data analysis and data quality investigations.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
  • Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
