About the position

The Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) role within the AWS Specialist Partner Organizations Centralized Data and Insights Team (CDI) focuses on developing scalable business intelligence solutions to enhance reporting capabilities across partner programs. The BIE will leverage ETL, scripting, SQL, and visualization skills to provide actionable insights and drive data-driven decision-making within the organization. This position is critical for optimizing partner investments and ensuring alignment across global partner teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide thought leadership in global business deep dives across a variety of key performance indicators.
  • Proactively make and justify recommendations based on statistical techniques and cross-referencing multiple data sources.
  • Automate reporting for regular metrics and identify areas of opportunity to scale ad-hoc analyses.
  • Own alignment and standardization of analytical initiatives across the global partner teams.
  • Define, develop, and build business critical metrics and reports across all business levers and key performance indicators.
  • Provide data engineering with functional and technical requirements to improve efficiency of data pipelines.
  • Drive efforts with business leaders, BI leaders, and executive management across the partner organization.
  • Stay up to speed with the latest technology/techniques in Generative AI to enhance reporting.
  • Partner with engineering, product, business, and finance teams to create key performance indicators and new methodologies for measurement.
  • Translate data into actionable insights for stakeholders and create analytical insights to identify key priorities.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc.
  • Experience with one or more industry analytics visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI) and statistical methods (e.g., t-test, Chi-squared).
  • Experience with scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, or R).

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree or advanced technical degree.
  • Knowledge of data modeling and data pipeline design.
  • Experience with statistical analysis and co-relation analysis.
