About the position

The Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) role within the Centralized Data and Insights Team (CDI) at AWS focuses on developing scalable reporting solutions that drive insights for the AWS Specialist Partner Organization. The BIE will leverage large datasets to create actionable insights and reporting artifacts, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance data-driven decision-making. This position requires a blend of technical expertise in data processing and strong communication skills to effectively engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Implement data pipelines from disparate sources to ingest, transform, and store data in a scalable format.
• Gather and understand data requirements, working with cross-functional teams to achieve high-quality and scalable data solutions.
• Dive deep into requirements to unearth optimal reporting design with Operations leads and drive constructive technical discussions.
• Build end-to-end BI solutions.
• Determine lineage to understand the chain of custody and transformation of data to build enablement material.
• Create interactive data visuals using tools like QuickSight, Tableau, and Matplotlib.
• Explore and learn the latest AWS technologies to provide new capabilities and increase efficiency.

Requirements

• 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc.
• Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools.
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift.
• Experience in data mining, ETL, etc., and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets.
• Scripting (e.g., Python) for data analysis.
• Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS, and Matlab.
