About the position

The Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) for Core Shopping Analytics at Amazon is responsible for transforming raw data into actionable insights that enhance the customer shopping experience. This role involves owning core datasets, collaborating with product managers and engineers, and delivering in-depth analyses to inform product roadmaps. The BIE will also drive the adoption of analytical frameworks across the organization and work with a team of data professionals to improve the overall shopping journey.

Responsibilities

• Own core datasets to understand customer usage of Core Shopping experiences.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineers to develop frameworks for improving customer experiences.
• Deliver in-depth analysis and recommendations to drive the product roadmap.
• Drive adoption of datasets and mental models across the Consumer organization.
• Collaborate with a team of BIEs, DEs, and DSs to enhance the end-to-end shopping experience.

Requirements

• 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc.
• Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools.
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
• Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS, and Matlab.
• Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift.
• Experience in data mining, ETL, etc., and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets.
• Experience working as a BIE in a technology company.
