About the position

The Business Intelligence Engineer for Global Services Security at Amazon Web Services (AWS) is responsible for driving data analytics projects that support business decision-making. This role involves utilizing business intelligence tools to produce planning models, forecasts, and analyses that align with the Global Services business objectives. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate insights and implement best practices in reporting and analysis, ensuring data integrity and effective documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Work with business customers to understand requirements and implement analytical solutions.
  • Design and implement reporting solutions for stakeholders to manage business effectively.
  • Conduct ad hoc data analysis and data quality investigations.
  • Implement training and documentation solutions for self-serve reporting tools.
  • Develop and support analytical technologies for timely and structured data access.
  • Design and implement an analytical environment using reporting tools and dashboards.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Quicksight, or similar.
  • Experience in data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
  • Proficient in writing complex SQL queries.
  • Experience with statistical analysis packages such as R, SAS, and Matlab.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with AWS solutions like EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift.
  • Experience in data mining and ETL processes in a business environment with large datasets.
  • Scripting experience in Python for data processing and modeling.
