About the position

The Business Intelligence Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing data models, data governance frameworks, and interactive dashboards to facilitate data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role involves close collaboration with stakeholders to understand their analytical needs and provide self-service analytics and reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain data models and schemas for various data sources.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of a centralized data warehouse architecture.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and architects to ensure alignment between data models and the underlying data infrastructure.
  • Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures to maintain data quality and integrity.
  • Implement data quality controls, monitoring, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Continuously monitor data quality and collaborate with teams to implement remediation measures.
  • Build interactive dashboards and visualizations to present key metrics and insights.
  • Develop self-service analytics and reporting capabilities for users.
  • Collaborate with business users to understand their analytical requirements.
  • Conduct enterprise-wide data discovery and profiling to identify potential data sources.
  • Analyze data sources for relevance, quality, and potential integration into the BI ecosystem.
  • Develop comprehensive training materials and documentation for analytics and reporting tools.
  • Provide training and support to business users for effective adoption of BI solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging BI technologies and propose enhancements.

Requirements

  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS, and Matlab.
  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience in Python.
  • Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, or equivalent quantitative field.
  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with experience in Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc.
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of advanced skills in Excel and familiarity with data visualization tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift.
  • Experience in data mining, ETL, and using databases in a business environment with large-scale datasets.
