About the position
The Business Intelligence Engineer II will be the first BI hire for the team, responsible for leading metrics reporting and dashboard creation. This role involves working closely with product and engineering teams to generate insights that guide product development and execution. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in data analytics and SQL, with a focus on customer needs and the ability to communicate effectively with senior management.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the business metrics reporting process and perform ad hoc reporting requests.
- Own key executive reports and metrics that are consumed by Relay leadership.
- Generate actionable insights through the development of metrics, dashboards, and deep dive analyses.
- Analyze data and metrics to identify trends and support decision making, including written and verbal presentation of results and recommendations.
- Engage directly with leadership to recommend business intelligence solutions.
- Model complex/abstract problems and discover insights using statistics, data mining, and visualization techniques.
- Automate processes by developing deep-dive tools, UIs, metrics, and dashboards to communicate insights to stakeholders.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in business intelligence or data analytics.
- Heavy SQL experience.
- Some experience with Python.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and QuickSight.
- Ability to communicate complex data insights in non-technical terms to senior management.
- Strong business acumen and customer focus.
