About the position

The Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) L5 position within the Paragon Analytics team at Amazon focuses on empowering Case Management tenants to make data-driven decisions and derive insights. The role involves developing an insightful platform that provides actionable datasets and metrics, influencing product roadmaps, and collaborating with product and tech teams to structure scalable data solutions. The BIE will play a crucial role in driving innovation, solving complex problems, and shaping the future of e-commerce through data analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex data analysis projects to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization across the organization
  • Develop and implement innovative BI solutions to create insights into product capabilities and performance
  • Optimize the performance, scalability, and reliability of the organization's data infrastructure and reporting systems
  • Engage in measuring data quality, A/B testing, and managing metric catalog and curated data layer
  • Ensure the integrity, security, and governance of the organization's data assets
  • Communicate data-driven insights and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across Paragon to drive strategic goals through data-driven decision making
  • Mentor and guide junior team members in advanced data analysis and business intelligence methodologies
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and process improvement within the team

Requirements

  • 4+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL experience
  • Experience developing and presenting recommendations of new metrics for business performance
  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) for data processing
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, or equivalent quantitative field
  • Experience in data mining, ETL, and using databases in a business environment with large-scale datasets
  • 4+ years of experience in Data/BI space

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
  • Master's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, or equivalent quantitative field
