About the position

The Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) role within the Worldwide Defect Elimination Concessions Analytics team at Amazon focuses on enhancing the customer remediation experience through innovative technology. The BIE will collaborate with various teams to analyze customer feedback, develop key performance indicators (KPIs), and assist in feature engineering and pipeline development. This position requires a detail-oriented and enthusiastic individual who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is passionate about making a global impact.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain scaled, automated, user-friendly systems, reports, dashboards, etc.
  • Partner with operations/business teams/economist/machine learning (ML) teams to consult, develop and implement key performance indicators (KPI's), automated reporting/process solutions and data infrastructure improvements to meet business needs.
  • Develop the end-to-end automation of pipelines for applications and ML models.
  • Apply analytic skill to extract meaningful insights and learnings from large and complicated data sets.
  • Serve as liaison with Business and technical teams to achieve project objectives, requiring data gathering, problem solving, modeling, and communication of insights and recommendations.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc.
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools.
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines.
  • Experience writing complex SQL queries.
  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab.
  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling.
  • Bachelor's Degree.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift.
  • Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets.
