As a Business Intelligence SQL Developer 3, you will play a crucial role in the Business Intelligence department, which is responsible for providing key insights into the clinical, operational, and financial activities of Terros Health. Your work will involve designing, developing, and maintaining metrics, data models, visualizations, and reports that are essential for informed decision-making within the organization. In this role, you will develop complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and SSIS packages to support application development and data analysis. You will also be responsible for scheduling jobs to automate various database-related activities, including backups and monitoring database health. Your expertise will be vital in maintaining data within our Enterprise Data Warehouse, ensuring that it supports our business processes effectively. You will lead the development of optimal designs that adhere to architectural best practices, considering scalability, reliability, and performance. Additionally, you will oversee product performance, making necessary corrections and enhancements, and ensure compliance with security best practices throughout the product development lifecycle. Collaboration is key in this position, as you will work closely with other team members and independently to deliver projects on time. You will also have the opportunity to train and support other developers and data analysts, contributing to the growth of the team. Your contributions will extend to configuring reporting products, mapping fields, validating result sets, and providing training and support to end users of BI reports and products. This role is not just about technical skills; it is about making a meaningful impact in the lives of those we serve through data-driven insights and solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and SSIS to support application development and data analysis.
  • Schedule jobs to automate different database-related activities including backup, monitoring database health, and disk space.
  • Write ad-hoc SQL queries and scripts to support various job functions and requests for reports.
  • Maintain data within an Enterprise Data Warehouse to support business processes.
  • Create and maintain automated EDI processes using SSIS, HL7, SFTP, and other technologies.
  • Lead the development of optimal design adhering to architectural best practices, considering scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Oversee product performance and make corrections and enhancements as necessary.
  • Ensure all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices.
  • Meet deadlines appropriate to the assigned projects.
  • Work with other team members and/or independently to deliver projects on time.
  • Train and support other developers and data analysts as needed.
  • Configure reporting products by mapping fields and validating result sets.
  • Contribute to BI Knowledge Base articles and best practices documentation.
  • Provide training and support to end users of BI reports and products.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 8 years of experience in T-SQL programming and SQL Server development.
  • 4 years of working with EHR systems like NextGen, McKesson, EPIC, Cerner, etc. preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with structured and unstructured data sources including csv, excel, xml, HL7, databases and data streams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Advanced level of proficiency in T-SQL programming and SQL Server management.
  • Expert in structured/unstructured data sources including csv, excel, xml, HL7, databases and data streams.
  • Experience with front-end development and design preferred.
  • Ability to work strategically, prioritize appropriately and meet critical deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and technical writing skills.
  • Must have valid Arizona driver's license, be 21 years of age with minimum 4 years driving experience, and meet requirements of Terros Health's driving policy.
  • Must have a valid Arizona Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance card or apply for one within 7 working days of assuming role.
