About the position

Holman is a family-owned, global automotive services organization that has been committed to its core values and principles for over a century. The Business Manager/Assistant Controller position at Audi San Diego offers an exciting opportunity to oversee the general accounting office and manage office employees. This role involves performing timely balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis, as well as managing the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring that reports are submitted to the corporate office punctually. In this position, you will collaborate closely with various business units to prepare monthly budgets, quarterly reforecasts, and annual budgets. You will also engage with all departments in both accounting and operational capacities, conducting income and expense analyses to identify deviations. Assisting in both internal and external audits is a key responsibility, as is maintaining a strong internal control environment. Additionally, you will ensure that accurate payroll information is submitted to the centralized payroll department on time and calculate compensation to guarantee timely payments. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, along with at least 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a dealership or automotive setting. Strong analytical skills, advanced knowledge of MS Office applications (especially Excel and Word), and the ability to work independently in a multi-tasking environment are essential. Excellent interpersonal skills, organizational abilities, and effective communication skills are also critical for success in this role. You will oversee compliance in sales, finance, service, and parts while working closely with Centralized Accounting to ensure the accuracy of financial data.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee general accounting office and immediate supervision of office employees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required.
  • 2+ years' accounting experience, with dealership and/or automotive related experience preferred.
  • Experience with budgeting, financial statement preparation, and financial analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications, especially Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work independently to solve problems and operate in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Strong inter-personal skills and demonstrated organizational ability with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all levels of management, staff, and third-party vendors.
