About the position

As a Business Manager for the Global Markets Financing COO team at UBS, you will play a pivotal role in supporting, implementing, and managing risks associated with the Global Markets Financing business. This position is designed for individuals who thrive in fast-paced and dynamic environments, and who possess a strong analytical mindset coupled with creative problem-solving skills. You will be responsible for partnering with front office stakeholders both locally and globally to manage the implementation of key projects and initiatives, which include business-driven changes aimed at transforming our Trading and Sales functions. Your role will require you to develop a comprehensive understanding of the business, including products, front-to-back flows, revenues, costs, personnel, strategic plans, and initiatives. You will manage relationships with various departments such as Technology, Operations, Compliance, Finance, and Legal to drive efficiencies across the business. Working closely with your team members, you will implement an effective risk framework for the Americas Financing business, monitor and analyze financial performance, and present findings to senior business heads. In addition, you will identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks while adhering to regulatory and operational risk standards. This includes completing deep-dives and ad-hoc projects, managing the Business Management portfolio, and leading special projects with a high degree of autonomy and accountability. You will also be responsible for the day-to-day business-as-usual (BAU) activities, which involve problem-solving, troubleshooting, issue management, and communication with the business.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with front office stakeholders to manage the implementation of key projects and initiatives.

  • Monitor, analyze, and present financial performance.
  • Partner with senior business heads to understand and address critical business requirements.
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks adhering to regulatory and operational risk standards.
  • Manage the Business Management portfolio, including strategic projects and regulatory initiatives.
  • Lead special projects with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.
  • Manage day-to-day BAU activities including problem-solving and issue management.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience in business management, COO roles, or management consulting.
  • Strong consensus-building and partnership skills with a collaborative approach across teams globally.
  • Ability to understand new processes and evaluate issues quickly to prioritize work and design solutions.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively, managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to present and interpret information for decision-making.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Organized with a logical thought process to adopt a systematic approach to problem resolution.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in financial services or investment banking sectors.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance and risk management frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Capital Markets Financing, Prime Brokerage, and Clearing.
