About the position

The Business Manager for Nursing Operations at UC Health plays a crucial role in assisting the Manager and Director with financial management, clinical data analysis, and quality monitoring. This position is responsible for producing reports that enhance the quality of care and service levels while ensuring cost-effectiveness. The role involves collaboration with clinical leaders and requires a strong understanding of healthcare operations and data management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Director and clinical leaders with overall financial management and budgetary expenditures.
  • Conduct clinical data analysis and interpretation from various database systems (Epic, ECIN, Excel, Midas, EPSI).
  • Design and implement quality indicators to support clinical activities in the department.
  • Develop custom reports to support clinical teams and identify best practices.
  • Coordinate activities to maintain consistency and quality of data collection for clinical best practices.
  • Assist with Joint Commission and CMS recommendations through new data systems implementation.
  • Support department staff in using office software efficiently.
  • Create and maintain employee databases and verify professional staff licensure.
  • Produce departmental vacancy analysis and liaise with Human Resources regarding position controls.
  • Assist with payroll editing, coding, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Educate and train associates on new product implementations.
  • Support special projects related to database coordination and budget analysis.
  • Monitor and reconcile budgetary expenditures for transportation and office purchases.
  • Utilize OneTouch system for ordering supplies and managing budgets.
  • Document accurate information and maintain records for productivity and statistics.
  • Investigate and implement new computer systems to support departmental functions.
  • Serve as a liaison with Information Technology Services for system maintenance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Information or Business Management.
  • 1-2 years of equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
  • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Master of Health Administration (MHA) preferred.
  • 3-5 years of equivalent experience preferred.
