About the position

The Business Objects / Tableau Administrator & Developer is responsible for the installation, administration, and development support of SAP Business Objects and Tableau. This role involves creating new BI reports, dashboards, universes, and managing data migrations, with a focus on ensuring the integrity and performance of BI environments. The candidate will work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and will be involved in all phases of the BI development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct interviews with stakeholders to elicit requirements for BI reports, dashboards, universes, and HANA data models.
  • Schedule, plan, and deploy major releases using FDA standard release management processes.
  • Install, configure, and manage Business Objects and Tableau environments from development to production.
  • Configure single sign-on (SSO) with Active Directory, SAML, and Ping Federate.
  • Implement and manage security controls in Tableau sites and Business Objects folders.
  • Conduct configuration management for all major releases and store configuration items in Jira.
  • Provide administration, development, and integration support for new reports, universes, dashboards, and HANA data models.
  • Conduct testing, including system, regression, unit, and integration testing for all releases.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) for Business Objects and Tableau components.
  • Develop custom SQL reports in Business Objects Webi, Rich Client, and BI Workspace.
  • Conduct regular integrity checks and refreshes of the database structure.
  • Develop ETL processes for releases as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience; 6+ years with a related Master's degree.
  • Expert knowledge in developing Tableau dashboards, Crystal Reports, Webi Reports, and Universes.
  • Experience in Business Objects and Tableau administration and development.
  • FDA domain knowledge preferred.
