About the position

The Business Office Manager at Everest Management Solutions is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of a skilled nursing facility. This role involves planning, developing, and implementing financial strategies in compliance with accounting principles and regulations. The manager will report financial performance to the Administrator and Board, manage billing and collections, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The position requires strong leadership skills to supervise the Business Office personnel and maintain effective communication with residents and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the overall financial operation of the facility.
  • Report the facility's financial performance to the Administrator and Board of Managers at least monthly.
  • Identify key performance financial indicators in conjunction with the Administrator and department heads.
  • Establish a system to monitor key performance indicators to promote fiscal health.
  • Evaluate key performance outcomes with department heads and recommend actions as needed.
  • Develop and implement processes for managing billing, collections, accounts payable, and payroll accounting.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to financial operations.
  • Produce monthly facility income statements and prepare financial records for government agencies.
  • Utilize various software for financial reporting and maintain schedules for capital expenses and depreciation.
  • Review and interpret monthly financial statements and provide relevant information to leadership.
  • Ensure timely completion of monthly billing using facility A/R software.
  • Develop and monitor accounts receivables and report delinquent accounts to the Administrator.
  • Develop and maintain written policies governing accounting functions of the facility.
  • Lead and coordinate financial meetings with department heads to monitor budget compliance.
  • Develop yearly facility budgets and report projections to the Board of Directors.
  • Promote effective communication and customer service to achieve facility goals.
  • Supervise Business Office personnel and evaluate their performance in collaboration with Human Resources.
  • Participate in committees and QAPI activities as needed.
  • Recruit qualified individuals for the Business Office team and promote teamwork and respect.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • At least three years of experience in a billing or supervisory capacity in a healthcare facility.
  • Knowledge of skilled nursing home regulations and guidelines pertaining to long-term care.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in long-term care or assisted living facilities.
  • Familiarity with GAAP accounting principles.
