About the position

The position involves managing authorizations for managed care and Medi-Cal or Medicaid, overseeing the business office staff, and ensuring compliance with billing and payment processes. The role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to handle financial responsibilities, including managing resident trust funds and tracking redeterminations for Medi-Cal and Medicaid. The individual will also participate in operational requirements and assist with applications and collections related to bad debts.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain managed care and Medi-Cal or Medicaid authorizations including bedholds.
  • Assist with managing resident trust fund, including printing and distributing monthly statements.
  • Supervise business office staff, including taking appropriate disciplinary measures.
  • Maintain census and report status changes.
  • Attend stand-up meetings at the request of the Administrator.
  • Assist with Medi-Cal or Medicaid applications.
  • Prepare TARS as needed.
  • Track Medi-Cal and Medicaid redeterminations.
  • Participate in billing and payment processes including preparing bank deposits.
  • Undertake collection activity for bad debts.
  • Complete operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
  • Assist with the overall supervision and management of the business office staff.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of skilled nursing billing and payment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft products and computer skills.
  • Preferably one year experience in a long-term care facility.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge and experience with PCC preferred.
