About the position

The Business Office Manager at Lee Healthcare is responsible for overseeing all business office functions to ensure compliance with internal policies and state and federal regulations. This role aims to achieve financial and operational goals while promoting staff retention and quality performance among business office employees.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all billing and collecting tasks for Private Pay, Medicaid, Hospice, and Managed Care.
  • Assist with the Medicaid Pending application process as needed.
  • Oversee the completion of all business office-related tasks.
  • Review, analyze, and interpret financial data to monitor progress toward established goals and implement improvements as necessary.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of plans for improvement as indicated by consultants or regulatory entities.
  • Communicate progress toward goals and obstacles to the Executive Director and management team.
  • Provide necessary training to business office employees for successful job performance.
  • Promote open communications between internal and external customers to enhance business office performance.
  • Participate in cash acceleration and special projects as directed by the Executive Director.
  • Coordinate and participate in periodic meetings and training workshops.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in accounting, healthcare administration, or business management preferred, or a high school diploma with equivalent work experience.
  • Fundamental knowledge of basic accounting principles and agency reimbursement programs.
  • Healthcare billing experience in a long-term care setting is required.
  • Collection experience is preferred.
  • Supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in supervising staff is preferred.
