About the position

The Business Office Manager at Life Care Center of Kirkland is responsible for overseeing the administrative, billing, accounting, and payroll functions within a skilled nursing facility. This full-time position requires effective management of bookkeeping functions, patient accounts, and business office staff, while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The role emphasizes a compassionate culture and excellent customer service towards patients.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the overall administrative, billing, accounting, and payroll functions of the Business Office.
  • Manage and oversee bookkeeping functions including posting payments and charges to patient ledgers and balancing daily receipts.
  • Collect delinquent accounts and evaluate the need for referring accounts to collection agencies.
  • Maintain the facility checkbook and reconcile it regularly.
  • Recruit, select, hire, train, evaluate, counsel, and supervise business office staff.
  • Manage and oversee patient accounts effectively.
  • Operate within budget constraints and manage financial resources responsibly.
  • Exhibit excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards patients.
  • Assist in the evacuation of patients when necessary.
  • Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.

Requirements

  • Experience in Skilled Nursing Facility billing preferred.
  • Two (2) years of office management experience preferred.
  • One (1) year in post-acute care or other geriatric related field preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of practices and procedures governing functions in the post-acute care facility.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
