About the position

The Business Operations Analyst position at CMA involves working in a hybrid environment, where employees will perform on-site support during business hours at the CBO headquarters in Washington, DC, while also engaging in telework. This role is crucial for assisting in the planning, development, facilitation, coordination, and implementation of special projects that define operational needs, project milestones, stakeholders, dependencies, risk mitigation strategies, and project metrics. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and documenting standard operating procedures, preparing instructions and user guides, and capturing best practices to facilitate project development for the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), which includes managing the agency's parking program. In addition to project management tasks, the Business Operations Analyst will assist working groups in identifying and integrating key issues affecting the Management Business Information System (MBIS) and the CBO. The role also requires supporting the CAO and other CBO leaders in the development and maintenance of agency data and presentations via SharePoint. Evaluating key business operations and methods, researching organizational issues, and determining corrective actions to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness are also key responsibilities of this position. Furthermore, the analyst will provide administrative and clerical support in CBO budget and finance matters, including planning, programming, execution, and analysis of the CBO's spend plan and other budget-related data. The ideal candidate will possess expert knowledge in SharePoint and the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, and have a background in project management and/or strategic planning, along with some knowledge of federal government practices and budgeting.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate key business operations/methods, and research and determine corrective actions or interpretations of organizational issues and challenges to increase operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide administrative and clerical support in CBO budget and finance matters, including planning, programming, execution, and review and analysis of CBO's spend plan and other budget and accounting-related data.

Requirements

  • Expert knowledge in SharePoint and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Background in Project Management and/or Strategic Planning.
  • Some knowledge of federal government practices and budgeting.
  • Background or degree in Business.
