About the position

The Business Operations Analyst - Mid Level at USAA plays a crucial role in enhancing data quality and processing efficiency within the Member & Master Data Organization. This position involves leading diverse teams to improve critical member profile information and retire technical debt, while also engaging with senior leadership and facilitating discussions to explore various solutions. The analyst will consult with business units to identify opportunities and provide insights that inform decision-making, ultimately driving significant operational improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the business and IT to meet COSA data reporting and analytics needs.
  • Perform advanced compilation, analysis, and reporting of COSA data, delivering insights and recommendations.
  • Consult and advise business partners on business analytics and decision support solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize data delivery and business solutions techniques.
  • Interact fluidly with key stakeholders to enhance reporting efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide business and technical guidance to internal clients regarding information systems and data infrastructure.
  • Maintain an understanding of business processes, supporting data, and strategic direction.
  • Act as a liaison between business processes and the analytics team to improve analytics integration.
  • Collaborate with technology groups to define business requirements and perform user acceptance testing.
  • Assist peer analysts with technical problems.
  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM or related discipline, or 4 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 4 years of reporting and/or data management experience with accountability for complex tasks and/or projects using tools like SQL, Python, GGplot, Tableau.
  • Demonstrated application of knowledge and skills in querying, data wrangling, report development, and requirements gathering.
  • Strong business acumen in business operations, industry practices, and emerging trends.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective information delivery to management.
  • Proven collaboration experience with project teams in business and IT.
  • Knowledge of compliance and regulatory data requirements, with the ability to develop and maintain policies.

Nice-to-haves

  • US military experience through military service or as a military spouse/domestic partner.
  • 2-3 years of experience with advanced technical database platforms and ETL processes.
