About the position

Dev Technology is seeking a Business Operations Analyst to join the leadership team of a large, complex software delivery program supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This role is pivotal in ensuring the operational needs of the software development team are met while fostering effective communication and relationship building. The ideal candidate will possess a professional demeanor, be detail-oriented, and thrive in a dynamic environment that requires flexibility to adapt to client-driven priorities. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain insights into the operations of a large government program and to grow alongside it. The role is primarily remote, with occasional travel required to client sites in Ashburn, VA, and Lorton, VA, approximately 2-3 days per month. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain the necessary government security clearance (CBP Final).

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate government security clearance processes.
  • Onboard and offboard team members, providing training, provisioning and deprovisioning system accesses, and assigning/recovering program assets.
  • Review and approve timecards for a large team and distribute task assignments to program personnel.
  • Collaborate with program financial and vendor management personnel to prepare client/internal management status reporting and complete ad hoc client deliverables.
  • Support the information technology needs of the team by coordinating laptop repairs/replacements and requesting assignments of non-standard workplace efficiency tools.
  • Oversee team compliance with mandatory training requirements.
  • Contribute to content in program collaboration tools such as Confluence.
  • Identify and implement improvements to operational, financial, and resource management procedures and tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of applicable work experience in a project analyst, business operations, or administrative role.
  • Prior experience working in an information technology project environment.
  • Experience performing financial analysis or financial support tasks.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365, particularly Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally with all levels of client, technical, and back-office personnel, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent relationship-building capability, with the ability to apply logical thinking and diplomacy to resolve complex issues with mutually beneficial results.
  • Ability to see the big picture while applying organizational skills and attention to detail to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel to Reston, VA (company HQ), Ashburn, VA (client site), and Lorton, VA (client site) as required, potentially on short notice.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with working within the government contracting environment, including experience with federal government clients and associated accounting and finance systems such as Unanet.
  • Familiarity with project management collaboration tools such as Confluence and JIRA.
