About the position

The Business Operations Analyst role at Insight Global is a hybrid position based in Memphis, Tennessee, designed for candidates who are local to the area. This contract role encompasses a variety of responsibilities centered around data analysis, project management, IT knowledge, reporting, and communication skills. The ideal candidate will be proficient in data collection, analysis, and interpretation, with advanced skills in data analysis tools such as Excel. A strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall, is essential, as is experience in tracking project progress and driving tasks to completion. In addition to technical skills, the role requires strong analytical capabilities, including critical thinking and attention to detail. The candidate must be able to analyze complex data, identify trends, and translate data into actionable recommendations. A solid understanding of key business metrics and their relationship to IT performance is crucial, as is the ability to align IT activities with business objectives. Effective communication is a key component of this role. The Business Operations Analyst must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to create clear, concise reports and present findings to various stakeholders. The ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences and facilitate discussions is also important. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary for building and maintaining relationships across different departments and collaborating effectively with IT and business teams. Organizational skills, including time management and detail orientation, are vital for managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. The candidate should have a methodical approach to organizing data and documentation, ensuring consistency and accuracy in records.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct data analysis to support business operations and decision-making.
  • Utilize data analysis tools such as Excel to collect, analyze, and interpret data.
  • Track project progress and drive tasks to completion using project management methodologies.
  • Create comprehensive and visually appealing reports and dashboards using tools like PowerPoint, Excel, and PowerBI.
  • Analyze complex data to identify trends, patterns, and insights, providing actionable recommendations.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to stakeholders through written and verbal presentations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across different departments to facilitate collaboration.
  • Manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, prioritizing work to meet deadlines.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business operations analysis, data analysis, or a related field, preferably within an IT environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with IT Management software and tools.
  • Excellent data visualization and storytelling skills to create impactful and meaningful product deliverables.
  • Understanding of key business metrics and how they relate to IT performance.
  • Proficiency in report generation tools and techniques (e.g. PowerPoint, Excel, PowerBI).
  • Trustworthy and reliable in handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment (local to Memphis, remote and on campus 2-3 days per week or as needed).

Nice-to-haves

  • A master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., PMP, CBAP) is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of business intelligence software (e.g., Power BI) is a plus.
