About the position

As a Business Operations Analyst at Nasdaq, you will play a crucial role in preparing comprehensive operations analyses that encompass competitor analysis, operational effectiveness, and capacity utilization. Your insights will be instrumental in making recommendations for improvement across various operational processes. This position requires a solid understanding of the organization's business operations and the industry landscape, coupled with strong analytical skills to provide statistical information that ensures the most effective utilization of personnel, equipment, and materials for electric and/or gas operations. You will also perform detailed analyses of the operation's cost elements to ensure that operations are both effective and efficient. In addition to your analytical responsibilities, you may be tasked with tracking, maintaining, and providing current information on the operation's business scorecard. You will support the Research Team located in the Richmond Office with various operational tasks, which may include performing and completing daily routine tasks while receiving guidance from your manager as needed. Your role will also involve providing basic, routine support for process and operations activities aimed at optimizing cost effectiveness. You will assist in operational planning by researching, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating basic business data, and you will draft reports that summarize your preliminary findings. Additionally, you will provide basic, routine data to manufacturers and vendors, and may engage in some local office management support activities. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, enjoys working with data, and is eager to contribute to the operational success of Nasdaq.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare operations analyses including analysis of competitors, operational effectiveness, and capacity utilization.
  • Make recommendations for improvement based on analyses.
  • Develop process analyses, designs, and simulations.
  • Provide statistical information for effective utilization of personnel, equipment, and materials.
  • Perform analyses of the operation's cost elements to ensure effective and efficient operations.
  • Track, maintain, and provide current information on the operation's business scorecard.
  • Support the Research Team with various operational tasks.

Requirements

  • B.A. or B.S. degree in Business, Information Management, Information Technology, or a similar discipline.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience.
